an average paradox

an average paradox references the possibility for an average of a set to represent nothing in the set.

the set of [1,1,1,2,2,3,7,7,7,9] has ten numbers with a sum of 40 - an average of 4 which isn't seen in the set, if a number had to equal the average none would be average.
